Body
Introduction
Pace University uses Duo Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for access to designated applications, which helps to strengthen security measures and mitigate potential system access vulnerabilities. MFA, also known as 2-factor authentication, adds a second verification step (or 2nd factor) by utilizing a mobile device possessed by the authorized Pace member seeking access to the application. The mobile device can be a Pace-owned or personal cell phone or tablet, or in some cases it can be a hardware token, which is assigned to the end-user. The device is used to complete authentication and gain access to the application.
Explanation
The table below lists Pace systems that are protected with MFA based on your university role (e.g. faculty, staff, student, etc.). If you need to enroll, please see Duo (MFA): First Device Enrollment article.
List of Protected Pace Systems that Require Duo Multifactor Authentication (MFA):
Note:
- YES = Duo is required for access by listed group
- NO = Duo is not required for access by listed group
- N/A = Application is not accessible to listed group

In order to gain access to systems that require MFA, end-users need to
enroll and then download and install the Duo Mobile app to their device. When logging in to the system, end-users will be prompted to enter a passcode, which they will retrieve from their Duo app on their device. Once the correct passcode is entered, the system will allow access. For instructions to manage a Duo account for those who have already enrolled, please refer to the
Duo (MFA): Manage Your Devices article.
If you need assistance enrolling in MFA, or if you have any questions about this initiative, please contact the ITS Help Desk at (914) 773-3333 (pacehelpdesk@pace.edu) or online at Submit Ticket Request.
