PACE-GUEST: Creating Multiple Random Wireless Guest Accounts

Introduction

Pace University active student, staff, or faculty can sponsor wireless-only guest accounts for off-campus visitors that require wireless network access. When sponsoring guests, you can create and manage their user accounts.

Notes: 

  • Only faculty and staff can create bulk guest accounts.
  • Guest accounts can be created up to 30 days prior to the start date.
  • For more advanced access (e.g.: Pace temp/contractor accounts), please refer to the Advanced (Temp/Contractor) Account article for more details.

Instructions

Sponsor wireless-only guest accounts for visiting guests who require wireless network access. .

  1. Visit https://sponsor.pace.edu
  2. Type your Pace Portal Username and Password
    MyPace Credentials
  3. Click checkbox next to Agree to
    Agree to Terms
  4. Click Sign On
    • Note: Once signed in, the home screen shows tabs along the top, including: Create Accounts, Manage Accounts, Pending Accounts, and Notices.
  5. From the Create Accounts tab, under Guest Information, click the Random tab
    • Note: The Random tab is only available to faculty and staff to create bulk guest accounts.

  6. Type number of accounts to create under Number of accounts
  7. Type username prefix of your choice under Username prefix (optional) (this adds a text string prefix to the beginning of each created account)
    • Note: The Access Information section is where you enter the start date/time and end date/time for wireless guest access.
  8. Click From Date and From Time boxes to select start date and start time
    • Note: The From Date must be 30 days or less from the current date.
  9. Click To Date and To Time boxes to select end date and end time
    • Note: Once you have specified the start date/time and end date/time from the access information section, the duration field automatically populates with the number of days that wireless access will be granted (up to 30 days maximum).
  10. Click Create
    • Note: The screen will display a list of the created Random accounts.
  11. Click Print to print the created accounts. Each account will be printed on a separate sheet. (i.e.; 20 Accounts = 20 printed pages).

  12. Highlight all accounts
  13. Press CTRL + C to copy highlighted text
  14. Open a new email message or other application (e.g.; Excel, Word)
  15. Press CTRL + V to paste highlighted text
  16. Click Done on Account Information screen
  17. You may sign out by clicking on your username on the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  18. Distribute accounts to guests for use

All guests should connect to PACE-GUEST by following the Connecting to PACE-GUEST (WIFI) instructions.
