PACE-GUEST: Creating Individual Wireless Guest Account

Introduction

Pace University active student, staff, or faculty can sponsor wireless-only guest accounts for off-campus visitors that require wireless network access. When sponsoring guests, you can create and manage their user accounts via the self-service Guest Account Sponsor Portal.

Notes:

  • An individual guest account can be created up to 30 days prior to the start date.
  • Faculty and staff can create multiple guest accounts (e.g., for an event) by following these instructions instead. 
  • For more advanced access (e.g.: Pace temp/contractor accounts), please refer to the Advanced (Temp/Contractor) Account article for more details.

Instructions

Sponsor a wireless-only guest account for a visiting guest who requires wireless network access.

Sign In

  1. Visit https://sponsor.pace.edu
  2. Type your Pace Username and Password in the fields provided
    MyPace Credentials
  3. Click the checkbox next to Agree to the Terms and Conditions

  4. Click Sign On

The home screen will display the following tabs at the top of the page: Create Accounts, Manage Accounts, Pending Accounts, and Notices.

Note: Students can only create and manage individual user accounts. For faculty and staff, the Sponsor Portal page shows three tabs: Known, Random, and Import. The Known tab is used for creating individual accounts, and the Random and Import tabs are used for creating bulk accounts.

Create Guest Account

  1. Type guest's details under Guest Information section
    • Note: The Access Information section is where you will enter the start date/time and end date/time for wireless guest access.
  2. Click the Date Picker icon for From Date and From Time to select start date and start time
    • Note: The From Date must be 30 days or less from the current date.
  3. Click the Date Picker icon for To Date and To Time to select end date and end time
    • Note: Once you have specified the start date/time and end date/time from the access information section, the duration field automatically populates with the number of days that wireless access will be granted (up to 30 days maximum).
  4. Click Create
    • Note: The Account Information page displays with your guest’s account credentials (username, password, expiration date, etc.).

Print or Email the Guest Account Details

You can email the account credentials (username and password) to the guest or print a copy and share it.

  1. Click Notify from the Account Information screen

  2. Click the checkbox next to Print for a printout
  3. Click the checkbox next to Email to notify guest via email
  4. Click Copy me to receive a copy of guest’s email message
  5. Click OK after you have selected your notification options
  6. Click Done on Account Information screen
  • Note: You may sign out by clicking on your username on the upper right hand corner of the screen

All guests should connect to PACE-GUEST by following the Connecting to PACE-GUEST (WIFI) instructions.

Note: You can access existing active guest accounts you created by logging back in to the Guest Account Sponsor Portal and clicking Manage Accounts tab.
