Lexis and Westlaw - Law School

All current Pace University School of Law students are issued passwords by LexisNexis and Westlaw; legal research systems for comprehensive research in primary and secondary legal materials from all United States jurisdictions and some foreign jurisdictions as well. Both systems also have large databases of non-law materials. The passwords allow students to access Lexis and Westlaw from any computer with Internet access.

Note:

  • These accounts are for educational use only; use of the Law School's Lexis and Westlaw accounts is explicitly limited to the course-related research of Pace law students currently enrolled, and full-time law faculty and staff. Students are not permitted to use their passwords for non-educational use or to allow anyone else to use their passwords. Pace's contracts with both Lexis and Westlaw demand prosecution of violators of the academic use clause.

Students can obtain Bloomberg Law passwords as well by clicking here. Bloomberg does not restrict use. The first-year Legal Skills program includes training in the use of Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law by the reference librarians who co-teach legal skills. Please contact Cynthia Pittson, Head of Reference Services, for more information. Any Reference Librarian can answer questions about searching Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law step-by-step guide.

Note:

  • There is a dedicated Lexis printer in the main computer lab in the Pace Law Library.  Printing from the Lexis dedicated printer is free.
  • At designated times Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law student representatives are available in the Computer Lab for technical assistance. Their names and schedules are posted in the Lab and at the Circulation Desk.
