Introduction
When this option is selected, the end time of all meetings and appointments you create will be reduced by the specified number of minutes you set.
This feature is exclusive to Outlook 365 for Windows. If you are currently using Outlook 2016/2013 for Windows this feature will not be available. Users can request an upgrade to Office 365 (including Outlook 365) via the Help Desk Ticket.
Note: As of April 2021, this feature for Mac Users is not yet available in Outlook 365 for Mac.
Instructions
How to use End Appointments and Meetings Early
- Ensure you are running Outlook 365 on Windows. To verify, open Outlook and click File -> Office Account. Subscription Product will be populated as Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise
- Note: If you are not running Office 365, request an upgrade via the Help Desk Ticket.
- After you have verified you are running Office/Outlook 365, proceed to click the Options button in the left-hand column
- Click Calendar and then check the box next to End appointments and meetings early
- Choose the number of minutes you would like to reduce your meetings and appointments for those that are Less than one hour and those One hour or longer. Then click OK to apply your settings and exit the Options menu.
- By default, your meetings and appointments that you create in Outlook will automatically be reduced by the number of minutes you specified. The example below shows a meeting being created before and after the setting to end meetings and appointments early that are one hour or longer by 10 minutes is enabled. What would normally be scheduled as a meeting from 2:00pm to 3:00pm now requires an end time of 2:50pm to be selected.
- Note: This setting does not change any existing or recurring meetings or appointments you have already created. You will need to manually change those times after enabling the setting.
