199 Water Street Printing

Introduction

199 Water Street includes an HP PageWide Color MFP 779 Printer for printing.  Use the below instructions to print from your laptop wirelessly and wired or using AirPrint on the Apple iPhone.

Note:

• Wireless printing from laptops using a VPN connection is not supported.  You must disconnect from VPN prior to printing.  
• Wired printing is recommended for printing when utilizing a VPN connection.
• Document Services is available to provide additional options of high quality print, imaging, and digital solutions for the University community.

Instructions

Printing Wireless via Windows Laptop

1. Connect to the PaceWireless Wi-Fi connection from your laptop
2. Once connected, type Printers & Scanners in the lower left search box and open the app
   
3. Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for NPIB65AD7 (HP PageWide Color MFP 779) to appear
   
4. Select the NPIB65AD7 (HP PageWide Color MFP 779) printer to have it installed
   
   • Note: You can print wirelessly from your Windows laptop when not utilizing a VPN Connection
      

Printing Wirelessly via Mac Laptop

1. Connect to the PaceWireless Wi-Fi connection from your laptop
2. Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the taskbar and select System Preferences
   
   • Note: macOS Ventura will list System Settings instead
      
3. Click Printers & Scanners
   
   • Note: macOS Ventura will display the following.
     
4. Click the + plus sign
   
   • Note: macOS Ventura will list Add Printer, Scanner or Fax… instead
     
5. Click HP PageWide Color MFP 779 [B65AD7] and click Add
   
6. The printer will install
   
   • Note: You can then print wirelessly from your Mac laptop when not utilizing a VPN Connection.

 
Printing using AirPrint (iPhone/iPad)

1. Connect to the PaceWireless Wi-Fi connection from your laptop
2. Click the Share button on a document you would like to print
   
   • Note:  Screenshot is using the iOS Mail app
      
3. Scroll down and tap Print
   
4. Tap Printer in the Print Options window
   
5. Tap HP PageWide Color MFP 779 and then click Print
   

Your document will then send from your iPhone/iPad and print.

Wired Printing on Windows and Mac

A USB cable is connected to the HP Printer at 199 Water Street.  It is recommended to connect your laptop using the USB cable to print documents that require a VPN connection (ex. shared drive documents, internal web page documents, etc.). 

• Note:  Mac users and some Windows users may require a USB-C to USB-A adapter for connection.
