Brightspace/Classes: Course Archival

As of May 30, 2023 Academic Technology will begin archiving and deleting courses in adherence with our course retention policy. 

  • Spring 2017 and older courses will be permanently deleted.
  • Fall 2017 through Spring 2020 courses will be archived.

What does “Archived” mean?

Courses that have been archived will no longer appear in Brightspace/CLASSES. However, the course will be saved for up to 3 years on Pace’s internal servers. 

It is important to note that courses which have been archived do not contain any student work or grades.  If you need access to these materials, you must save them prior to the course being archived. Please see these tutorials for saving student work/grades and creating your own course export files.  These items can be securely saved to your Pace provided OneDrive storage account.

If you do not archive your courses independently and need to access an archived course, you can create a Help Desk request by emailing Acadtech@pace.edu with the CRN and term code of the course.  

What is Permanent Deletion?

Permanently deleted courses will no longer be available. All data saved exclusively within these courses will be unrecoverable.
