This tutorial will help get started using WordPress.

Instructions

Creating Your Account

1. Navigate to https://wordpress.com/
2. Click Get Started
   
3. You will then be prompted to Create your site today!
   • Note: These steps guide you on creating your site: What’s your website about? Choose a theme, etc.
4. Select appropriate options
   
5. Enter a available domain name in the search bar
6. Click the Select button next to the Free domain name
   
7. Click Select Free Plan
   
8. Enter your email address, choose a username, and choose a password
   
9. Click Create My Account
    

Managing your WordPress Site

1. Click My Site button
   • Note: You will be able to change your theme design, add posts or pages through this tab
     
2. Select your domain name to view your site
3. Click Themes next to Customize to adjust the look of your site
   

Creating a Post

1. Click the pencil icon ()in the top right corner of the page
   
2. This will open a blank text editor where you can add the title and write out your text
   

Insert an Image

1. Select the Add Media button
   
2. Select Add New to upload your image
3. Select image and click Insert
   
   • Note: The image will appear where you left your cursor
      
4. After completing your post, click Publish
   • Note: Your post will be saved as a draft unless you publish it
     
5. Your post will appear on your page.
