OneDrive for Business: Client Sync for University Windows Computers

Introduction

The OneDrive for Business sync client is available to manage files using a desktop application. To use the desktop sync client, set it up and sync your library. Once synced, your OneDrive for Business library will appear as a folder on your computer from which you can view, upload, and share. The following instructions show how to install the OneDrive for Business sync client and sync your Pace OneDrive for Business library.

IMPORTANT!  Please note, sensitive information including personally-identifiable information (PII) should not be stored in any online (cloud) file hosting platform, including OneDrive for Business.

Note: For those users who have Office 2016, the OneDrive for Business client is already included. If Pace employees with University machine want to obtain Office 2016, please submit a Help Desk ticket at https://help.pace.edu.

Instructions

Instructions in syncing to OneDrive for Business

  1. Open and verify if OneDrive for Business is installed in your computer.
    • Note: Pace employees who do not see it listed, please submit a Help Desk ticket at https://help.pace.edu.

  2. Click Sync Now to start syncing your OneDrive
    • Note: If you are prompted to enter a library URL and can not continue, please jump down to alternative instructions below.

  3. If prompted, type your Pace Portal username and password

  4. Once synced, click Show My files in the dialog box to open synced OneDrive for Business folder in Windows Explorer

Alternative Instructions in syncing to OneDrive for Business

  1. Go to https://portal.office.com
  2. Type your Pace Portal email address, and click Next

  3. Type your Pace Portal email address and password and click Sign In

  4. You will receive a pop-up screen which displays "Stay signed in?", Click either Yes or No

  5. If prompted, type your Pace Portal username and password and click Sign

  6. Click OneDrive to Access and edit your files.

  7. Click on Sync located at the top menu.

  8. This opens the Sync Library wizard. Click Sync Now to start syncing with OneDrive.

  9. If prompted, select OneDrive for Business and click Open link

  10. Click Sync Now to start syncing your OneDrive.

  11. If prompted, type your Pace Portal username and password

  12. Once synced, click Show My files in the dialog box to open synced OneDrive for Business folder in Windows Explorer.
