Brightspace/Classes: Posting a Video Recording in a Discussion Topic

  1. Using Firefox or Chrome as your web browser, navigate to Activities on the blue navbar in your course homepage.
     
  2. Select Discussions

     
  3. Click on the name of the discussion topic.
     
  4. Click Start a New Thread.

     
  5. When you are ready to respond to the prompt, click the Insert Stuff button in the toolbar to begin recording your video.

     
  6. Click Add Video Note.

     
  7. The Record Webcam button should already be selected, if it isn't click it.

     
  8. Scroll down and click the New Recording button.

     
  9. If you are asked to grant permission for the use of the webcam and microphone, click allow or click the lock button in your browser's address bar and grant permission.

  10. When you are done recording your response, click Stop Recording.
  11. Click the Next button.

     
  12. Click the Next button on the following page.

     
  13. Click the Insert button.  Your video may display the below message, but you can still insert the video without waiting for the image to refresh.  Your video will be successfully inserted.
  14. You will see the video inserted into the text editor.
     
  15. Click Post when you are done with your discussion post.
