Microsoft Teams: Meeting Controls

Introduction

The Microsoft Teams meeting toolbar allows you to adjust your camera, microphone, background settings and more before entering a meeting, ensuring a smooth start without disruptions. During meetings, the Teams toolbar provides easy access to essential functions such as sharing content, raising your hand, and more, enhancing your overall meeting experience.

Instructions

Show or hide all participants

  1. Click People to show a list of participants
    people icon
  2. Click People people icon again to hide participants
    people list

Show or hide the meeting conversation

  1. Click Chat to access meeting chat

  2. To hide the chat window, click Chat chat icon again
    chat list

Use reactions

  1. Hover over React
    emoticon icon
  2. Choose between Emoticons
    Emoticon

 

Create a breakout room

  1. Click Rooms
    breakout room
  2. Assign participants Automatically, Manually or Let people choose their rooms to the breakout rooms

Add an app

  1. Click Apps
    app icon
  2. Search for any supported App
    find app
  3. Click the App you want for the meeting
    select app

Turn your camera on or off

  1. Hover over Camera to see a preview of your video

  2. You can choose background effects and select what camera to show video

  3. Click Camera to turn it on

  4. To turn your camera off, click Camera again 
     

Mute or unmute your microphone

  1. Click Mic to mute or unmute your microphone

  2. To mute again, click Mic
     

Share your screen

  1. Click Share
    share icon
  2. Choose to present your entire screen, a window, a PowerPoint file, or any other app
    presenter mode

End a meeting

  1. Click the down arrow next to Leave at the top right

  2. Select End meeting

  3. Click End to confirm
    End confirm
  • Note: Only meeting presenters can end meetings.
